Training Course (2nd & 3rd Nov 2012) - Practical Assessment of Female Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction

This introductory 1.5 days course is suitable for nurses and physiotherapists new to the speciality and those wishing to update their practical assessment skills.

• The Course will be held in a clinical environment to gain practical experience in the digital assessment of pelvic floor muscle function
• Theory of anatomy/physiology of the pelvic floor complex
• Objective assessment of pelvic floor muscle dysfunction
• Demonstrations of biofeedback including EMG and Dynamic Ultrasound
• Clinician and Patient role models during a practical examination session
• Each participant to carry out at least one digital vaginal assessment
• Valid consent procedures adhered to according to DoH guidelines
