Stress Incontinence

There can be “stress” in one’s life, when all seems too much to cope with, and there can be incontinence, a condition where there is leakage of urine from the bladder. The term incontinence stress is a small leakage of urine when doing exercise, laughing, bending down etc. Incontinence stress usually affects women because of childbirth but men can have incontinence stress caused by various conditions. Incontinence stress is a treatable condition and often cured by correct pelvic floor exercises, but early diagnosis and treatment is essential to achieve this. As many as 1 in 3 women can be affected by stress incontinence, and most do nothing about it, thinking the problem will go away, but it will not unless pelvic floor exercises are part of daily life. Always see a health professional to be taught the exercises for incontinence stress, and life will be back to normal within three to four months. Incontinence stress is an inconvenience that can be treated.
