Our Clinical Consultant Nurse, Mary Dolman (MPhil, BSc, RGN, ET), has 30 years experience in the field of continence problems and her particular area of research is rehabilitation of the female pelvic floor. Mary has a long association with de Smit Medical Ltd. and lectures nationally on enuresis, biofeedback and electrical stimulation and bladder scanning. She is delighted to take your queries by email and strongly believes in the individual approach just as in her nursing career. Continence Problems
It is very common for women to start to experience some problems with pelvic floor strength after childbirth, particularly if they have experienced long labours, heavy birth weights or multiple births.For men, as they get older, they can suffer from problems with their prostate, or diabetes, which can result in leakage. Sometimes even children suffer symptoms.
Whatever the cause, if this embarrassing problem is not dealt with, it does not go away. By improving your pelvic floor, you can also enhance your sex life!
But there are many ways of treating and/or managing the problem.
