Shewee isn’t just a useful urine device for the average girl outdoors, it can be particularly useful for many women with medical issues and if it helps give everyone more freedom then we really will have achieved our aim! It is now even available on NHS prescription (PIP number 343-0394).
| Mobility Impaired | Shewee can be useful for female elderly patients who are unable to make it to a toilet or simply find it difficult to bend or squat when they do. To use a Shewee whilst sitting in a wheelchair, just move towards the front of the chair and ensure that the outlet pipe is directed downwards into a Shewee Absorbent Pouch. If you would prefer to use a bottle or urine bag then we would recommend that it should have a 1 litre capacity | |
| Bedbound | Shewee can be used whilst sitting on the edge of a bed but it can also be used lying down | |
| After Surgery | Shewee is fantastic for any woman who has difficulty moving around after surgery and can help avoid the need for catheterisation, however, a Shewee is particularly useful for women suffering from Vulval cancer who may have had their labia majora removed. | |
| Urine Samples |
Use Shewee when giving a urine sample to ensure that you are able to aim directly into a pot with no leaks, spills or splashes – particularly useful when pregnant and you can’t see past your bump! Shewee can be sterilised in an autoclave, in the microwave or boiled. It can withstand temperatures up to 120Ë |
