Over the last few months, our technical training tutor, Dr Kenneth Pereira, has been busy visiting several hospitals to teach our bladder scanner maintenance course. Dr Kenneth Pereira is a brilliant trainer with years of experience teaching electronics, biomedical engineering and electrical safety testing. Our delegates have praised Dr Kenneth Pereira for his “excellent knowledge and keeping the entire class consistently engaged.” Since June, Kenneth has taught 42 delegates across 5 hospitals in Lancaster, Grantham, Grimsby and London.
During this one-day course, you will learn how to perform a functional test, disassembly/reassembly, troubleshooting, calibration, validation and electrical safety test on a bladder scanner through practical and theoretical parts of the course. Learning these principles helps to keep costs down by keeping repairs and servicing in-house, which will minimise overall lifetime costs. For our courses, we have two training options; we can carry out the technical training in-house at our training suite or on-site in your department.
The recent training course for GE Healthcare’s EBME team, supporting Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London, was attended by 18 delegates, following their purchase of 28 BioCon-1100 scanners. One delegate thought it was “one of the best training courses in my career” and that “Dr Kenneth was outstanding in delivering the technical and theoretical aspects of this course.” Many delegates consistently comment on how Kenneth is “so passionate and knowledgeable” when teaching his courses and how he “makes complicated ideas easy to understand.”
Dr Kenneth Pereira and our new technical trainer, Simon Butler, ran the most recent in-house training course at our training suite. Simon has many years of experience working as a biomedical engineer within the NHS and has been involved in the delivery of apprentice training programmes. It was a successful training session, a delegate commented, “the attention paid by both the trainers was excellent; they ensured I was following and understanding before moving on.”
We have thoroughly enjoyed training and meeting all 42 delegates and their EBME departments; thank you to all those who attended. It’s been great to hear all your fantastic feedback about our course and trainers and how you “would recommend it in the future.” If you would like to find out about our other technical training courses, please visit our website.
